Three Atlanta wireless hosts have been discharged after airing a segment mocking former New Orleans Saints player Steve Gleason’s battle with ALS, also renowned as Lou Gehrig's infection. Throughout the segment, the hosts made joy of Gleason’s condition and his grim life expectancy. Gleason was identified with the degenerative muscle disease in 2011 and lately penned a pillar considering his condition.
On Monday forenoon, Atlanta’s 790 The Zone’s “Mayhem in the AM” sports display hosts Nick Cellini, Steak Shapiro and Chris Dimino featured a fake “caller” making up to be Gleason. The false Gleason notified knock-knock antics with horrific punchlines like “Smother me. Do me a favor” and “I’m going to hell” as the three hosts joked. At one issue, the fake Gleason jested that he might not be alive by Thursday.
